Podcasts
Between 2006 and 2019, Nadira created four podcasts:
The Belly Dance Geek® Clubhouse
It’s easy to find help with the “what”, like moves and choreography, but it’s a lot harder to get help with the “why and how”.
So in each episode of the Clubhouse, I interview a different guest expert on geeky topics like business, culture, musicality, and composition. The later episodes are hosted by our Director Emerita, Heather Wayman.
More Than Steps
The podcast where we geek out on how the dance works, one coffee run at a time. The later episodes are hosted by our Director Emerita, Heather Wayman.
Las Vegas Belly Dance Intensive Instructor Interviews
When I taught at the LVBDI in 2014, I did this series of interviews to help promote the event. It was so much fun that I did it again for the festival’s final year in 2015.
The events are over, but this series is still full of great tidbits – not to mention a good way to find instructors for your next workshop.
Taktaba
The video podcast that started it all. This project is what led to the Improvisation Toolkit, which is what led to the creation of Belly Dance Geek®.
Way back in 2006, I was looking for instructional videos to help me dig deeper into the elements of dance composition. I couldn’t find what I wanted, so I decided to create it myself.
The production values are basic (not to mention that you’re seeing Baby Nadira…), but I’m still really proud of the content.
